Featured this month:  One Secret of Fatima in Three parts & Warning

Dear Readers

As we welcome the month of July, we turn our hearts once more to the profound mystery of Fatima, contemplating the one secret revealed in three parts, and the enduring call it offers conversion, prayer, and hope. This edition invites us to enter more deeply into that message, allowing its light to shape our faith and our daily witness. We also hold in tender remembrance Canon Jason Jones, recently laid to rest, whose wisdom and quiet holiness continue to guide us even in his absence. May his soul rest in the peace of Christ, whom he served with such fidelity.

JULY – ONE SECRET OF FATIMA IN THREE PARTS AND WARNING

Amid the controversy and sensationalism surrounding the  Secret of Fatima (in three parts), we often lose sight of its true purpose: a call to remember the timeless truths of faith, prayer and penance. This article reflects how Our Lady’s message, far from being new or dramatic, invites us back to conversion, hope and the triumph of her Immaculate Heart.

Reflection: The Prophetic Message of July 13th

As we enter the month of July, we reflect on one of the most prophetic messages given to the three seers by Our Blessed Lady during the apparitions that took place in Fatima in 1917. The July 13th apparition is mainly associated with the secret given to the children—a secret that would later be revealed to the world as a means to restore the centrality of God in our lives through prayer, sacrifice, and reparation.

As Sister Lucia later revealed in her memoirs, the secret consists of three distinct parts:

  1. The Vision of Hell
  2. War, Communism, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary
  3. Penance and the Ongoing Suffering of the Church

While the first two parts focus on the conversion of sinners and saving souls, the third emphasizes our deep need for penance.

To help save souls, God sent Our Lady with a peace plan, desiring to establish devotion to her Immaculate Heart so she may be known and loved. As part of this plan, the Pope was asked to consecrate Russia and the world to Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart in communion with all the world's Bishops. This was ultimately fulfilled on March 25, 1984, by Saint Pope John Paul II—some 55 years after the original request at Tuy in June 1929.

Another vital condition was the instigation of the First Saturdays Devotion of reparation, requested by the Child Jesus and Our Lady in Pontevedra in December 1925. This request remains open to all of us and is as urgent as ever to bring peace back to our world.

The mission of the World Apostolate of Fatima is to teach the authentic message of Fatima and propagate this First Five Saturday devotion. Please help in whatever way you feel called.

MAGNIFICA HUMANITAS, Pope Leo XIV’s First Encyclical on Artificial Intelligence

by Fr James McGillicuddy

The official publication of MAGNIFICA HUMANITAS on 25 May 2026, Pope Leo XIV’s first encyclical on artificial intelligence, arrived at a moment when humanity has become profoundly dependent on technology and increasingly shaped by the rapid advance of AI, making the Church’s enduring defence of human dignity more urgent than ever.

The encyclical on artificial intelligence reinforces rather than replaces the Church’s longstanding defence of human dignity against any form of commodification.

Its timing with Fatima, recalls Jacinta’s tender prayers for the Holy Father and the Third Secret in which the pope stands at the centre of a spiritual struggle, and therefore reminding us that safeguarding the human person is inseparable from safeguarding the soul. Publication is as reviewed by Fr James McGillicuddy.

England and Wales to Be Consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Each year, the Church invites us in June to contemplate the burning love of Christ revealed in the Sacred Heart, a devotion so central to the message of reparation entrusted to the world at Fatima. As we now enter July, the month marked by the anniversary of the  13th of July,   the depth of the world’s need for conversion and the power of consecration, we are given a providential sign of hope close to home.

In a beautiful and recent development for our nations, the Bishops of England and Wales have agreed to consecrate both countries to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, following a heartfelt proposal from a laywoman and supported by many of the faithful. This decision, announced in June, resonates deeply with the Fatima call to trust in the Heart of Christ, to make reparation, and to seek the triumph of divine love in our families, parishes, and nations.

As we reflect this month on Our Lady’s July message, her plea for devotion to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary and her assurance that grace can transform history, we invite you to read the full report on this important step for our country. The link to the article is provided below.

EVENTS / VISITATIONS

WAF Cambridge Promoters Participate in the First Eucharistic Procession in Cambridge

On Sunday, 7th June 2026, the streets of Cambridge hosted the first Corpus Christi procession, a centuries-old Catholic tradition celebrating the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. The day began at Fisher House in the heart of the city centre, where clergy, students, families, and faithful gathered before processing through the streets, following the Blessed Sacrament carried reverently in a monstrance beneath a canopy.

Accompanied by hymns, prayer, and moments of reflection, the procession offered a public witness of faith against the backdrop of Cambridge’s historic colleges and busy streets. It concluded at the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and the English Martyrs with Benediction, bringing together the community in a shared act of reverence and celebration of this enduring tradition.
