WAF England & Wales at Cardiff Cathedral - Cadeirlan

During the liturgy, His Grace received, crowned, and blessed the National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fàtima and the Relics of Saints Francisco and Jacinta Marto. He also reflected on the significance of the Pilgrim Statue’s journey during the Centenary of the Pontevedra apparitions, highlighting the enduring relevance of Our Lady’s call to conversion, reparation, and peace.

The weekend’s programme unfolded smoothly through the dedicated efforts of Canon Michael Doyle, Dean, the Cathedral staff, and the World Apostolate of Fàtima England & Wales volunteers. Faithful from across the Archdiocese—and even from the neighbouring Diocese of Clifton—joined in the celebrations, demonstrating the wide and heartfelt embrace of the Fàtima message.

The message of Fàtima was communicated in rich and varied ways:

- through the Chaplet of Adoration and Reparation during the Holy Hour,

- through the docuโ€‘film on the apparitions,

- and through the presentation of key Fàtima programmes, including the Five First Saturdays Devotion of Reparation, Children of the Eucharist / Young Missionaries of Mary, and the Fàtima Prayer Cell.

The witness of the faithful was equally moving. At the book table, many shared stories of personal transformation, renewed devotion, and prayers for the future—testimonies of grace that revealed how deeply Our Lady’s message continues to touch hearts.

Music played an essential role throughout the weekend’s liturgical celebrations. On Sunday, the sacrifice of the Mass was elevated by the angelic voices of the choir from St John’s College, Cardiff, whose singing added beauty, solemnity, and contemplative depth to the worship.

The weekend became a moment of blessing for the Archdiocese: a renewal of Marian consecration, a rekindling of devotion, and a shared commitment to living the message entrusted at Fàtima.

May Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart be your refuge and the way that will lead you to God.
