WAF England & Wales at The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Norwich

A Solemn Welcome to the Cathedral

On behalf of the Cathedral clergy, Rev. Fr. Anthony Asomugha, Assistant Priest, warmly welcomed the Statue and the Relics of Saints Francisco and Jacinta Marto. He then crowned and blessed them before the celebration of Holy Mass. More than 200 devotees from parishes across the Diocese of East Anglia gathered for this moment of profound Marian devotion.

Bishop Peter Collins: A Shepherd’s Call to Conversion

On Sunday, 18 October 2026, Bishop Peter Collins, Bishop of East Anglia, presided over the Solemn Mass. His Lordship reflected on the Apparitions of the Angel in 1916, recalling the prayers taught to the three shepherd children and their enduring relevance. He exhorted the faithful to embrace Our Lady’s message of conversion, prayer for peace, and reparation, first entrusted to the world in 1917.

A Weekend of Devotion, Formation, and Testimony

The Cathedral became a place of deep spiritual renewal marked by:

  • Beautiful devotions centred on the Eucharist, to which Mary always leads her children.
  • The Divine Mercy Chaplet, sung and led by the CFC Choir.
  • The Chaplet of Adoration and Reparation, led by Ethel Lojo and Rosalie Santiago of the WAF South Visitation Team.
  • Reflections on the Joyful Mysteries, led by Didith Amper, WAF East Anglia Promoter, together with volunteers praying in six languages—a moving echo of the international Rosary at the Shrine of Fàtima in Portugal.

The dedication of the Cathedral staff and volunteers shone throughout the weekend, their service a living testimony of faith, hospitality, and love.

Growing Momentum for the Fatima Apostolate

The Home Pilgrim Statue Visitation Programme gained new strength as three volunteers stepped forward as joint Custodians. Plans to establish the Five First Saturdays Devotion at the Cathedral are now underway, supported by both clergy and laity. Deacon Jonathan Callejo pledged his full support for this initiative—Heaven’s Peace Plan for our times.

May Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart be your refuge and the way that leads you to God.
