The visitation to St Agatha in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey has truly been a historical one.
Those who came to this weekend's celebration were both from local and neighbouring parishes within the Deanery and beyond. There was even a pilgrim from the Diocese of Northampton.
Both Fr Francis Olaseni, MSP and PP of St Agatha, and Fr Peter Akor, MSP and asst PP, received the NPVS of Our Lady of Fàtima and the Relics of Ss Francisco and Jacinta Marto. Fr Peter crowned and blessed the Pilgrim Statue.
The parishioners' commitment and love for Our Lord and Our Lady shone through with the preparedness exhibited from the preparations to the procession to the serving of non-stop tea/coffee during the day to the decorations of the bier and the altar.
It is worthy of note that the parish already has an established First Saturdays Devotion programme. It is hoped that participation on this programme will increase as this is Heaven's Peace Plan for our world today. It is hoped that the Home Pilgrim Virgin Statue Visitation programme will be established in the parish as one of the legacies of this weekend's celebration.
St Agatha, pray for us.
Ss Francisco and Jacinta, pray for us.
