Reflections: 2024 AGM – Imitation of Mary
by Kathleen Too
Brothers and sisters
First I would like to thank Patrick and Barbara and the WAF committee for organising such a wonderful AGM in such a beautiful location at the Franciscan Ladywell centre in Godalming, Surrey.
Our Lady of Divine Motherhood here in Godalming is shown to be nursing baby Jesus, and in the same way our World Apostolate of Fatima is in need of tender loving care and nursing. We can but only do this with the help of Our Lady, divine food from heaven, listening to the Gospel, and through divine providence. Our WAF mission here in England and Wales is her mission.
We heard talks from Donal Foley how the mission of WAF England and Wales is so important for her Immaculate Heart to triumph. Our Lady told us that we must repent, consecrate ourselves to her immaculate heart, make reparation on First Five Saturdays for the conversion of sinners but not only the conversion of sinners but the conversion of England because England is Mary’s Dowry and it brings the words we hear from Fatima closer to home to Walsingham. We heard of prophecies from St John Vianney and St Dominic Savio on the conversion of England for the triumph of God.
So WAF England and Wales has its importance today and it is what Our Blessed Virgin Mary wants. It is her heart’s desire that we came to Goldalming to do her mission. Our lady has given us this opportunity to make devotion to her immaculate heart known. She said in Fatima on the 13th July 1917:
“You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart."
Our mission is clear. We need to establish devotion to her immaculate heart so as to help bring about the conversion of England and Wales, and the triumph of her immaculate heart.

So WAF England and Wales needs your help to help establish devotion to her Immaculate Heart.
How do we do this?
1. Fatima as a way of formation
Fr Richard Nesbitt led the discussions telling us that we must establish spiritual gyms (structure, discipline, good prayer habits, fasting) Fatima prayers cells, thus forming our promoters. The Fatima messages are clear and already establish a firm structure- rosary, repent, fast, sacrifice, communion, and so on.
2. Fatima as defending family life
How do we imitate the lives of the little shepherds: St Francisco and St Jacinta? They can be a role model for children. Today’s secular lives and societal problems are reasons to be called back to God. Help with your parishes in terms of catechism, Eucharistic or reading ministries. Learn to serve the church. Establish the young missionary of Mary/ Children of the Eucharist/ children rosaries in your parish, also Fatima prayer cells, First Saturday Devotions, Home Pilgrim Virgin Statues, Parish Cathedral visitations. You can also attend conferences and events on behalf of WAF and expand membership in your parish and deaneries.
3. Fatima as Heaven’s Peace Plan
Canon Jason led this group looking at each of the words: Heaven- Our Lady says she is from Heaven. We pray Our Father, who art in Heaven…. Peace - Shalom. God is true peace and it is a peace that the world cannot give. It is a heavenly peace and not an earthly peace Plan - rather a simple one and revealed to Children. How do we learn to live in peace? We must act as Children of God. Pray for the leaders of governments (Ukraine and Russia, Israel and Palestine and other countries at war). Consecrate those countries to Our Lady. Pray that those counties become dedicated to God. Make reparation and establish devotion to her Immaculate Heart.
4. Fatima as a renewal of Faith
led by Patrick Cunningham and Jerry Rivera. We discussed how the Eucharist and sacraments were at the heart of the messages in Fatima, with the Angel of Peace offering the children the chalice and host. This is a Christo-centric message. God is in the Eucharist. We must participate in the sacaments, e.g. reconciliation with God in Confession. Perhaps we could consider a perpetual Adoration link from our Fatima website, a link to EWTN.
Barbara led us in discerning the Parable of the Sower- Matthew 13. Barbara asked: “What are we growing if our blessed Mother Mary is the farmer?”
In sum, we can get involved and work together with WAF to reach new heights.
